Construction is fast and furious on a new Greek restaurant landing in the strip mall on the corner of Rose and Lincoln in Venice. A new sign lets us know that ELA Greek Eats is well underway. ELA is a project from the man behind the erstwhile Waterloo & City in Culver City and Inotheke in Santa Monica, Carolos Tomazos. We wish him the best of luck.

I haven’t seen it in your messages, so in case you hadn’t noted it, “Meet in Paris” opened a new site on San Vicente Blvd. in Brentwood. They don’t have a wine license yet, but have a ‘no corkage’ policy in the interim. It’s much less cramped than their place in Culver City.

It replaced the overpriced and overrated Bahn Mi Venice. Actually sandwiches were good but the owner was such a sourpuss.
Hopefully ELA will be less sour…
