Sometimes, for reasons I don’t immediately understand, the amount of interest in a story of mine catches me by surprise. This is exactly the case here. Ever since I told you about the impending arrival of the iconic sign that inspired Ed Ruscha to the corner of Imperial and Crenshaw, a great many of you have been asking for updates. Well, today is the day you’ve been waiting for: Popular SoCal diner Norms opened today (November 21) in Crenshaw Imperial Plaza to long lines of excited fans. You’re welcome.
A new eatery is coming to the commodious space last occupied by Charly’s Restaurant at 4549 Imperial Hwy. A banner on the front is announcing the impending arrival of Ms. B’s M & M Soul Food Restaurant. This will be the second location for the Inglewood institution, home to “World Famous Mississippi Home Cooking”.
The iconic sign that inspired Ed Ruscha is about to soar over Crenshaw Imperial Plaza. Bulldozers are clearing the way on the corner of Imperial and Crenshaw in Inglewood for what will be a branch of the ever-popular quintessential SoCal diner Norms Restaurant. According to the website, they’re planning on opening sometime this year.
Update: Norms opened on November 21st, 2019.
