It appears that something mysterious is landing in the space that was once occupied by Wahoo’s Fish Taco, at 11911 Wilshire Blvd. in Brentwood. An ABC application posted on the front informs us that an “eating place” called Unknown Kitchen is moving in. There is not much information out there yet, except a nonfunctioning website and a mention on a window job notice of Puzzushi, so if you have any more information, let me know…

I recently heard from a reader (Thanks Steve!) that Brentwood neighborhood fixture Wahoo’s Fish Taco was going to close at 11911 Wilshire Blvd. after a nearly 20 year run. For lease signs point to the sad fact, but a notice on the door confirms that they will indeed close at Summer’s end. All may not be lost though, according to the notice, they are looking for a new space somewhere nearby…
Perhaps the last place one would expect to find substantial vegetarian food would be a restaurant specializing in fish tacos. But Wahoo’s Fish Taco, in addition to already offering tofu, mushrooms, or vegetables as fillings for tacos, apparently recently added a Wafu Bowl to its menu: teriyaki tofu with choice of rice and beans. I noticed the sign walking by the Wahoo’s next to the new Seed Bistro. So the answer is yes, you can get veggie food at Wahoo’s. Read more here: wahoos.com.
