Nong Lá Replacing Wise Sons In Culver City

On a tip from a reader, I went by the tricky space that has hosted many restaurants, most recently Wise Sons, at 9552 Washington Blvd.  There’s a banner on the front informing us that Vietnamese cafe Nong Lá is setting up housekeeping.  Well known for their “Phở, Bún, and Bánh Mì“, Nong Lá has two other locations in LA and is planning on a Winter 2024 opening at this location.

Bludso’s BBQ Replacing Truxton’s In Santa Monica

It’s been a cool minute since Truxton’s pulled up stakes at 1329 Santa Monica Blvd.  Since then, a ‘leased’ notice was splashed across the front, and readers have been demanding answers.  Now we have them.  An ABC application on the front door spills the beans that BBQ superstar and cookbook author Kevin Bludso is expanding his operation to Santa Monica with a location of Bludso’s Bar & Que.  Looks like they’re shooting for a June opening, but in the meantime, check out their menu here and try to stop your mouth from watering.

Poke Club Bringing Yet More Raw Fish To LA

Is there room in Los Angeles for more poke shops?  They seem to be everywhere lately and you seldom have to walk more than 500 feet to find some form of raw fish.  With all that competition a new contender, Poke Club, is about to give it a go.  They are close to opening a new restaurant at 463 S. La Brea Ave. in Los Angeles.  We wish them luck…
