Cure Spa, one of Malibu’s preeminent wellness centers, appears to be expanding from their PCH location to a spot in the newish The Park at Cross Creek development at 23401 Civic Center Dr. If you look closely, you’ll see an ABC application posted on the front of the space describing the type of business as an “eating place”. A rep for the well-known spa very sweetly declined to confirm or deny that there will somehow be a restaurant here, encouraging us to wait and see. So there ya go… I’m picturing egg white frittatas and pinot gris.
The Park at Cross Creek development at 23401 Civic Center Dr. is certainly changing things up in Malibu. Yet another restaurant is snatching up one of the spaces. The people behind Malibu’s longtime pie fave D’Amore’s Pizza are planning on opening Cafe D’Amore in the hot property. And according to their FB page, they’re also shooting for a location in Calabasas as well.
The Park at Cross Creek development, at 23401 Civic Center Dr., is poised to really perk up the Malibu dining scene. Another new restaurant landing in the shopping center is Real Coconut. Real Coconut hails from Tulum, Mexico and offers a “plant focused” menu that is “free of gluten, grain, dairy, and refined sugar”, and is cooked only with avocado oil. Beloved local institution Howdy’s Taqueria used to reside in the Country Mart. Apparently the owner, Howdy Kabrins, shuttered the eatery due to some personal reasons that you can read about in this article. But Howdy’s is coming back to Malibu. The new location is in the new The Park at Cross Creek development at 23401 Civic Center Dr. We wish them the best of luck.
