A Message From Toddrickallen…
It’s been so deeply painful to witness the devastation to our community and others over the past week. My heart aches for those who have lost so much. The sadness hangs in the air as thickly as the smoke. But so does resiliency. I’m buoyed by the fortitude and determination to rebuild and to assist. I have an immense amount of appreciation and gratitude for first responders who tirelessly risk their own lives. I will be back with more content soon, but right now my attention is on helping my community begin to heal. Please consider making donations to organizations that are on the ground right now, such as World Central Kitchen and the American Red Cross. Be safe over the next few days.

It felt hopeless watching the sickening death of George Floyd, followed by the senseless destruction of our community’s restaurants and businesses which were struggling to survive mandated COVID-19 closures. Toddrickallen is committed to standing with our community as we rebuild, and with other communities as they address racial violence and discrimination. Together, may we all find the hope and courage to move forward…

We’re living in extraordinary times. COVID-19 is on everyone’s mind right now, and it is especially affecting the restaurant business to which this site is devoted. I started this blog 13 years ago as a reliable food news source with a simple dictum; at least three posts a week. But we are experiencing unprecedented disruption. As I suspect all of you are, I simply am not out in my community as much as I normally would be and therefore may, for the first time ever, have to break my founding dictum. But I’m still here. Over the next few weeks, I will do the very best I can to deliver what news I may encounter. I realize your attentions may be elsewhere right now and as always, I appreciate your continued support. In the mean time, you are all on my mind and I wish you and yours health and safety. Together we will get through this…
