Blossom Drops Off Abbot Kinney

Sadly it appears that after about a year, local fave Blossom Vietnamese has quietly slipped out of the space at 1121 Abbot Kinney Blvd. in Venice.  There’s no official statement, but the space is dark and gutted.  A local was passing by and, noticing my interest, explained to me that this location is notoriously tricky for restaurants because it’s not easily seen from the street.  Previously the space had been home to 3 Square Cafe.  Whatever the reason, you can still visit Blossom’s Santa Monica location at 2821 Ocean Park Blvd. for their signature noodles.

Blossom And Friends Coming To Santa Monica

Vietnamese noodle shop Blossom appears to be broadening their horizons.  On a tip (Thanks CG!) I went by the space that used to be home to Uplifter’s Kitchen at 2819 Ocean Park Blvd.  New signs and an ABC application in the window are announcing a new project from Blossom, which incidentally sits right next door at 2821 Ocean Park.  I’m told by a spokesperson that the new project, Blossom and Friends, will be a departure from Vietnamese.  While the menu is still in development, it appears Italian will be on offer.  I’m also told that they are looking to open by the end of March.  We wish them the best of luck…

Blossom Brings Vietnamese Noodles To Santa Monica…

You could be forgiven for not seeing much happening in this photo.   But looks can be deceiving…  Hiding behind this humble and signless façade, at 2821 Ocean Park Blvd. in Santa Monica, is the Westside’s newest and much-anticipated Vietnamese restaurant Blossom, that I first told you about back in April. You’ll be pleased to know that they are now open and dishing noodles Monday through Saturday for lunch and dinner. Blossom Bringing Vietnamese To Santa Monica?

I only just noticed that there’s an ABC application posted on the front of the space at 2821 Ocean Park Blvd. in Santa Monica announcing that Vietnamese restaurant Blossom is intending to move in.  But since the application was apparently posted late last year, absolutely nothing has been touched on the space.  I’m not sure what the hold up is (I’m looking at you City of Santa Monica), or if they’ve changed their minds, but until we know more, you can locate their three other locations and try to figure out their inscrutable website here.
