I recently spotted an ABC application pasted to the front of the bright and airy space at 22333 PCH in Malibu, near the newish Caffe Luxxe, in the recently remodeled Sands Center. The app lists the name of the new restaurant as Nicolas Eatery. The Malibu Chamber of Commerce describes the upcoming eatery as “fast casual”, using “regional produce” in a “welcoming atmosphere”. A little deeper dig reveals that the new eponymous restaurant is connected to Nicolas Fanucci, who is a former general manager at the erstwhile Bouchon Bistro in Beverly Hills.
I’ve known for a while that there was going to be a branch of luxury artisanal coffee purveyor Caffe Luxxe in Pacific Palisades. But now I know where… The signs are up on the window of the space at 15200 W. Sunset Blvd. #105, across the street from the upcoming Palisades Village development, announcing the impending arrival. I’m not sure of an opening date, but construction is fast and furious.
It looks like artisanal coffee purveyor Caffe Luxxe is expanding. I just noticed their signs are up on an empty space in the freshly remodeled shopping center at 22335 Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. Their website also promises a new location in the Montecito Country Mart in Montecito as well.
I only just recently noticed that artisanal coffee experts Caffe Luxxe has boarded up its location at 11975 San Vicente Blvd. in Brentwood. I think the closure wasn’t unexpected as the entire shopping complex that this branch anchored has also boarded up in anticipation of an upcoming project. But if you count yourself among the legions of devoted fans of the popular purveyor of caffeinated drinks, don’t worry that you’ll have to drive to Santa Monica to get your fix: According to their website, they are planning on moving just a little east to a new location at 11640 San Vicente. I’ll keep watching to see what develops.
A sign recently went up in the window of artisan coffee purveyor Caffe Luxxe at 925 Montana Ave. indicating that they are seeking to expand to much stronger stuff. The notice posted in the window informs us that they are requesting an ABC license, and that the City of Santa Monica is currently reviewing their request. But before you get excited about the prospects of a glass of cab with your cappuccino and croissant, the license they are requesting is an ABC type 20, meaning the beer and wine will only be “off-sale”, or purchasable to be consumed off the premises.
Neighborhood artisanal hand-crafted coffee and espresso expert Caffe Luxxe is turning 10 years old. To celebrate, they’ve created a special 10th Anniversary Blend, that you can sample for free starting today (Wednesday). And according to their website, tomorrow (August 4th) they will be handing out “FREE drinks all day” at all three locations in Santa Monica and Brentwood.
A little South Pacific with your latte? Tonight (Nov 8th) from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the Montana branch of Caffe Luxxe is a “musical review of Broadway classics” sung by house barista and baritone Nathaniel Reynolds. More than likely it will be quite crowded so arrive early. Caffe Luxxe is at 925 Montana Ave. in Santa Monica.
If those frothy hearts, leaves, and swirls at the top of your latte fascinate you, then this Tuesday, August 16th head down to Caffe Luxxe at 925 Montana Ave. in Santa Monica for The Battle of the Baristas, a “latte art competition”. Starting at 6:30pm, this teeth-clencher promises multiple rounds of baristas showing off their flashiest milk-foam skills. http://www.caffeluxxe.com/
