Van Leeuwen Coming To Montana Ave.

Montana Ave, Santa Monica’s preeminent shopping/dining street, is becoming a sweet destination.  Rori’s Artisanal Creamery, Pinkberry, and Frozen Fruit Company are just a few of the places to score a frozen treat.  And now one more is on the way…  Window paper is up on the space that used to be home to Erin Mckenna’s Bakery, at 1415 Montana, announcing another ice cream spot.  Van Leeuwen, which started out in 2008 in New York as a food truck, will soon be bringing their signature artisan ice creams, vegan ice creams, sundaes, vegan chocolate chip cookies, and shakes to the tony neighborhood.

Erin Mckenna’s Bakery Now Dishing Donuts In Santa Monica…

Back in August of last year, I told you about a new treat shop landing in the old Blue Plate space at 1415 Montana Ave.  You wouldn’t know it from the lack of signs, but Santa Monica’s branch of Erin McKenna’s Bakery opened over the weekend, joining locations in New York, Orlando, and on Larchmont.  Look for a menu of donuts, muffins, cakes, and other sweets, as well as breakfast and lunch items that are vegan, gluten-free, refined sugar-free, and kosher.

Erin McKenna’s Bakery Expands To Santa Monica

Ever since Blue Plate exited the space at 1415 Montana Ave., I’ve been watching to see what might develop.  The wait is over.  According to signs that went up this week, the site will soon be home to a branch of Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC.  With locations in New York, Orlando, and on Larchmont, you can expect confectionary treats that are vegan, gluten-free, refined sugar-free, and kosher.
