Gott’s Roadside Coming To Santa Monica

I’ve long known that Northern California’s legendary diner darling Gott’s Roadside was taking over the space at 401 Wilshire Blvd. Ste 140, most recently home to the short-lived Osteria Del Fornaio, but I only pass on information when I have concrete evidence. Now I do. A “notice of non-responsibility” recently went up on the front door naming the new tenant as Gott’s. Along with their other new location coming to The Original Farmers Market at Third and Fairfax, this is their first push into SoCal. Gott’s Roadside began in Napa Valley and has since grown to eight current locations, offering an innovative “modern take on American roadside classics” that you can check out here. Looks like they’re aiming for a Spring 2026 opening.

What’s New In The Original Farmers Market, Santa Monica?

Here are some upcoming changes coming soon to The Original Farmers Market at Third and Fairfax:  Eastern European experts Stara are bringing pierogi and kielbasa the mix.  Here’s a look at their menu.  And on the Northern side of the food court, there’s a banner up declaring the new inhabitant to be none other than beloved iconic Italian sandwich chain All’Antico Vinaio.  Their website also spills the beans of a new Santa Monica location as well.  SMDP has the full skinny on the upcoming Downtown Santa Monica location here.

Market Chicken Coming To The Original Farmers Market

It appears there’s a new poultry purveyor landing in The Original Farmers Market, on the corner of 3rd and Fairfax.  One of the spaces (#334 to be exact, it’s near Monsieur Marcel) has a sign up announcing the impending arrival of a new venture named Market Chicken.  A still-developing website promises “rotisserie chicken, wraps, salads, sides and more”.

Williams Sonoma Coming To The Original Farmers Market

Don’t count out fancy Westside kitchen shops quite yet.  The commodious Beverly Hills Williams-Sonoma closed earlier this year (a new Erewhon is replacing it), and Sur La Table has abandonned us.  All this has left panicked Westsiders scrambling to find somewhere to buy their Mauviel pans and couscoussiers.  Even the Santa Monica location of Williams-Sonoma was rumored to be on the chopping block, but seems to have survived for now.  But there’s hope on the horizon.  The Original Farmers Market at 3rd and Fairfax is getting its very own Williams-Sonoma so… tragedy narrowly averted.
