Edouardo Baldi, Chef/owner of popular Industry power spot e. baldi in Beverly Hills has quietly launched a new take away joint directly behind his eponymous restaurant on Canon Dr. Simply titled Edo, the coffee bar recently slipped into the unassuming space at 9406 Brighton Way. On offer are an array of pizzette, focaccine, crostine, desserts, and other Italian faves.

Mainland Poke’s Next Location In Beverly Hills…
It appears that popular expanding fish bowl chain Mainland Poke has secured their location in Beverly Hills. Paper covering the windows at 130 S. Beverly Dr., right next to Blue Bottle Coffee, is announcing their impending arrival. And according to Eater, this branch will be serving beer and wine.

Joe & The Juice Lands In Beverly Hills
I recently noticed the papered-over windows on the space at 9632 S. Santa Monica Blvd. in Beverly Hills, just to the right of Le Pain Quotidien, announcing yet another juice store arriving soon… Except, it isn’t just another juice store. It’s an outpost of übercool international lifestyle/juice brand Joe & The Juice. Hailing from Denmark, the brand is apparently known for hiring hunky guys and promoting “bro culture” (at least according to Business Insider, and trust me, you’re gonna want to read this article).

Wally’s New Location In Santa Monica Will Be…
Back in March of last year, I noticed a small pending development permit taped to the front of the old Hennessy+Ingalls bookshop at 214 Wilshire Blvd. in Downtown Santa Monica. The permit listed the applicant as Santa Monica Farmhouse. Recently a teaser ad went up on the front the space taunting us with, “You will never guess what’s coming soon.” Last week, the ABC applications were on display spilling the beans. The future occupant will be another branch of the ridiculously popular oenophile paradise Wally’s Wine and Spirits. Wally’s expansion into Santa Monica came onto Eater’s radar back in late March, but no details were revealed. Because there are two applications, one for ‘on sale’ and one for ‘off sale’, I think its safe to assume that this Wally’s will be similar in design to the one in Beverly Hills.
North Shore Poke Co. Drops Anchor In BH
LA continues its love affair with raw fish… Recently “molecular creamery” Ice-Cream Lab closed its chilly doors at 9461 S. Santa Monica Blvd. in Beverly Hills. And wasting no time, signs are now up to let us know that expanding Hawaiian restaurant North Shore Poke Co. will soon be moving in. To read more and view an unnervingly close photo of their product, click here.

Fleming’s Folds In Beverly Hills
I didn’t see this coming… As evidenced by the note attached to the front door and the removal of signs, it appears that Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar has thrown in the towel at its location at 252 N. Beverly Dr. in Beverly Hills. No word on a replacement, but I’ll keep watching.

Tatel LA Taking Over Nic’s Beverly Hills
As you probably already know, legendary watering hole Nic’s Beverly Hills closed after a long run on Jan 31st. And what will be taking over its space at 453 N. Canon Dr? An ABC application appeared in the window this week announcing that something called Tatel LA will soon be moving in. Could this be a branch of the highly anticipated Spanish restaurant coming soon to Miami? We’ll have to wait and see…

Merci Clement Coming Soon To BH
Paper covering the windows at 9887 S. Santa Monica Blvd. in Beverly Hills informs us that we can expect a new French café, Merci Clement to open soon. Not much out there yet, just an undeveloped website and Facebook page. According to the notices on the door, we can look for a menu of specialty coffee, salads, sandwiches, crepes, chocolates, “petit cakes”, and gelato. It looks like they’re planning on opening some time this year…

Beverly Hills Poke Set To Replace Beverly Hills Beignet
It wasn’t that long ago that I told you about Beverly Hills Beignet taking over the old Papa Jake’s Sub Shop at 9527 Santa Monica Blvd. in Beverly Hills. They opened about six months ago, but closed recently after a bit of a kerfuffle. Wasting no time whatsoever, it appears that a newcomer is quickly taking over the vacant space. Beverly Hills Poke will soon be dishing raw fish to the good people of The Golden Triangle. According to a worker at the site, they are hoping to be up and running in about a week and a half. Not much out there on BHP, just a Craigslist ad, so I’ll keep watching…

Bow Truss Runs Into A Spot Of Trouble In Beverly Hills
Chicago coffee experts Bow Truss vied for the attention of fickle LA coffee drinkers back in 2015. Things may not have worked out as they had hoped… Two notices have been taped to the front door of their tiny boite at 340 N Camden Dr. One handwritten notice indicates that they are now “closed until further notice”. The other explains perhaps why: It is an official three day notice to pay rent or quit. I’m not sure if the closure is permanent, but things don’t look good. I’ll keep watching…
9021Pho Quits Beverly Hills…
I didn’t see this coming… It appears that Beverly Hills’ long-standing purveyor of Southeast Asian food has pulled up stakes. A for lease has gone up on the front of cleverly named 9021Pho indicating that they are vacating their location at 490 N. Beverly Dr. Yelp confirms that they are indeed closed. No word on what happened or what may be taking their place, but I’ll keep watching…

Ladurée Opens In Beverly Hills: You’re Welcome.
To the great many of you who have been carefully tracking the progress of LA’s second branch of Paris’ cult macaron shop comes this welcome news: Ladurée threw open its doors at 311 N. Beverly Dr. on Saturday. While I haven’t seen the recently opened outpost at The Grove, this one has a different look and feel than the branches I’ve visited in Paris, London, or New York. The tiny jewel box space is bright and airy with large flowers and lattice on the walls, not paneled and heavily Gallic in theme like many of the others. A cursory glance at the menu shows many of my old favorites, including the Club Champs-Elysees (tomato, eggplant, zucchini, mozzarella, parmesan, and basil on wholemeal bread). And the pastries, cakes, and macarons are as gorgeous as always, and prettily displayed in glass cases, beckoning you to forget all about that New Year’s resolution you recently made…

Correction: I originally reported that the Club Champs-Elysees was on the menu. It is not. That sandwich is apparently only served in Paris and New York. Tofu sliders are this locations meat-free sandwich option.
Café Gratitude Coming To Beverly Hills?
I am dynamic… I am present… I am expanding…
Back in May I told you that Beverly Hills fixture Coupa Café had vacated its space at 419 N Canon Dr. Recently, I noticed that the place had been leased. A small notice pasted on the front states that the new owners have filed for an open air dining permit with the City. If you look closely at the lower left of the intent notice, you’ll see that the name of the business is listed as “Gratitude Beverly Hills”. A closer inspection of the projects list of the Beverly Hills Planning Commission (page 24) reveals that the request is being made by none other than popular organic plant-based restaurant chain Café Gratitude. While I haven’t confirmed this myself, it’s all there in black and white.

Juice Served Here Coming Soon To BH
A great many of you have been carefully watching the space that used to house St. Urbain Street Bagels at 451 North Beverly Dr. in Beverly Hills. Well, now we know what’s taking over. A small notice of non-responsibility taped to the front door indicates that a new branch of “never conventional” expanding juice company Juice Served Here is moving in.

Ladurée #2 Coming To Beverly Hills!
Le Bon Dieu of heavenly French patisserie continues to shower confectionary benevolence upon the good people of LA… I’ve been starry-eyed ever since Eater told us about the upcoming arrival of Paris’ legendary pastry shop and restaurant Ladurée to The Grove. But guess what happy surprise I stumbled upon on the corner of Beverly and Dayton in Beverly Hills: It appears that Ladurée is taking over the space that used to house Vosges Haut-Chocolat at 311 N. Beverly Dr. Plywood covers the front, obscuring the diminutive shop and kitchen as it transforms into the jewel box that is their signature style, but I’m confident it’ll be magnifique and I personally can’t wait. Quelle Bonne Chance!

Rawberri Not Coming To BH Soon…
Back in August, I noticed that the windows of an erstwhile hair salon at 412 N. Bedford in Beverly Hills had been papered over with announcements that superfood bowl specialists Rawberri would soon be inhabiting the space. Well, something must have fallen trough… Recently, the announcements came down and a for lease sign went up. Apparently the space is again leased. I’ve no idea what may be coming, but I’ll keep watching.

Mr. B Now Open In Beverly Hills
It was back in March when I first noticed that a new coffee and bread spot was going into the space at 9667 1/2 Wilshire Blvd. in Beverly Hills. Mr. B Bakery is now fully up and running. The self-described “Euro/Asian fusion bakery” offers an astonishingly vast menu of coffee, tea and milk tea, boba, and baked goods that you can read more about here.
3 Ways Cafe To Replace Nespa Cafe In BH
I’ve been watching the evolution of the tiny space next to the tony salon Jose Eber at 360 N. Camden in Beverly Hills since 2011. First it was 360 Café, then shortly encountered a few troubles, but managed to soldier on until it turned into Nespa Café in 2014. Hopefully three is a charm: Windows are papered over and a new awning are indicating that the space will soon be 3 Ways Café. I’m told that the emphasis will be on chopped salads and lunch items. I’ll keep watching…

Couscous A Gogo Now Open In BH
Many of you have been fascinated with the progress of the fast fresh build-you-own couscous concept that was under construction at 9533 S. Santa Monica Blvd. (formerly Frankie & Johnnie’s). You’ll be happy to hear that Couscous A Gogo is now open in Beverly Hills. Read more and find a copy of their menu here.

Coupa Cafe Closes In BH
Comfy al fresco Venezuelan dining spot Coupa Café appears to have closed its doors at 419 N Canon Dr. in Beverly Hills. And they don’t seem to have a new tenant lined up yet as evidenced by the large for lease signs posted on the front. I’ll keep my eye out for what’s next…
