Hey Tea Coming To Century City

Yet another addition to the Westfield Century City Shopping Center food scene. There’s plywood up on a second floor space announcing the arrival of Hey Tea. Hey Tea began life in 2012 in Guangdong, China and offers a proprietary “New Style” of tea that uses “real milk, real fruits, real premium tea, and real cane sugar” with intriguing flavors such as Longjing cheese milk tea“, “crisp grape boom“, andsupreme brown sugar bobo milk tea.

DOL Coffee House Coming To Santa Monica

The corner building at 1231 Wilshire has sat empty ever since the Krispy Kreme donut craze cooled and this location closed in 2021. The space now has a leased sign on the front, and I believe I know who the new tenant is. If you look carefully at the Instagram page of DOL Coffee House, you can see that the artist’s rendering of their new Santa Monica outpost has their signs up on this address. DOL has a location in Gardena and promises, “the most delicious Vietnamese drinks and desserts in the USA (Coffee, boba, and more)“.

Black Sugar Boba Coming To West LA

It appears there’s a new sweet treat shop landing at 11918 Wilshire Blvd in LA.  A banner us up announcing the arrival of Black Sugar Boba.  It looks like they were aiming for an earlier opening, but their website still promises this location.  Look for a menu of high-quality milk tea, matcha, cereal milks, smoothies, slushes, and fruit tea.

Teaspoon Now Dispensing Drinks in Sawtelle Japantown

There’s a cheery new specialty drinks shop that slipped into a quieter section of Sawtelle Japantown.  The Bay Area’s Teaspoon is now in soft opening at 1947 Sawtelle Blvd. Unit E and pouring drinks that “blend together fresh flavors with traditional boba tea culture”.  Their Grand Opening will be on August 7th at 12pm, when the first 100 customers will get a free drink in a Teaspoon bamboo bottle.
