Taco Bell Bringing Its Live Más Café To Century City

A fresh new drinks concept is landing in The Westfield Century City Shopping Center, and it’s brought to you by everyone’s favorite craveable fast food provider Taco Bell. There’s plywood up on one of the spaces in the food court announcing arrival of Live Más Café. And what pray tell is that? According to their website, Live Más Café serves the full Taco Bell menu, with the addition of specialty drinks served up by a “Bellrista”. Look for “Crave-worthy coffee, creamy chillers, light and fruity refreshers, bold energy drinks, and seasonal creations“. They are shooting for a Fall opening.

Sana’a Cafe Bringing Yemeni Coffee Tradition To Santa Monica

Growing java chain Sana’a Cafe appears to be heading to Santa Monica. There’s a banner over the new build-out at 1302 Pico Blvd announcing the arrival. Yemen has a strong tradition of coffee, where it has been cultivated for over 500 years. Sana’a Cafe honors this heritage by “sourcing the finest organic beans from Yemeni highlands”. Sana’a Cafe has 7 other locations across California (and a new location coming to Westwood as well) and offers an extensive menu of Yemeni specialty drinks, espresso drinks, and teas.

Wellside Cafe Replacing Cafe Zella In Santa Monica

Cafe Zella quit their longtime location at 1531 Wilshire Blvd a few months back. Never a big splashy restaurant, the quiet little cafe served as a neighborhood breakfast and lunch staple, catering to the medical crowd on the other side of Wilshire. Now a new eatery is looking to fill in the gap. A window poster is announcing that Wellside Cafe is taking over the address. The poster is promising coffee, breakfast, and lunch, but you can get a much better idea of what is coming by checking out this Santa Monica Sun article.

Cotti Coffee’s Second Santa Monica Location…

Last month I told you about hip lifestyle brand Cotti Coffee moving into a space on Lincoln Blvd. in Downtown Santa Monica. The brand’s second Santa Monica location will be located at 1353 Third St Promenade. Cotti Coffi began in China in 2022 and has quickly risen to a presence in “33 countries with 18,000+ stores, [and is] ranked 3rd globally.” The menu offers innovative drinks, light meals, and merch.

After sitting vacant for a few years, the space right on the corner of Lincoln and Broadway, at 1447 Lincoln, is getting a new tenant. Window paper has gone up on the location announcing the arrival of Cotti Coffee. If you’ve been paying attention, you may have heard of Cotti and its meteoric rise. It has a smattering of locations in SoCal and is known for its buzzy lifestyle brand. Dragon Alley Coffee Shop Bringing Inspiration To Downtown Santa Monica

The capricious food/beverage world of Santa Monica’s Third St. Promenade is a nearly constant environment of change. The City’s renewed push to improve conditions for businesses will hopefully bring a fresh crop of arrivals. But there are already new businesses moving in. There are the heavy hitters like Raising Cane’s, and there are also some new enterprises willing to chance Downtown SM. One of these is a new java joint, Dragon Alley Coffee Shop, that is currently setting up housekeeping at 312 Santa Monica Blvd. The still-developing website reveals that Dragon Alley is the dream project of Sage and Richard Chand, whose inspiring story you can read about here. Nespresso Boutique Coming To Century City

It appears that The Westfield Century City Shopping Center is getting a new coffee purveyor. But not just any coffee…. There’s paper up on one of the ground floor spaces announcing a brand-new Nespresso Boutique. While Bloomingdale’s carries the line, I would imagine this will be more like the Beverly Hills boutique with a light menu of coffees and pastries and a sexy showroom to highlight the snazzy machines and proprietary coffee.

Menotti’s Coffee Stop Coming to West Edge

It looks like a new java joint is heading to the West Edge development, at Olympic and Bundy in West LA. There’s window paper up on space #9 announcing the arrival of Menotti’s Coffee Stop. Menotti’s has two other LA locations (and one in Tokyo) and specializes in selectively sourced coffee “primarily from Central and South America” that supports small, independent farmers. I’m not sure what will be on offer at this location, but you can get an idea here.

Sonia’s Café Coming To Santa Monica

A charming new java joint is currently in build-out at 1260 15th St (corner of Arizona), surrounded by medical buildings. Sonia’s Café appears to be settling into the address, promising, “Where coffee meets a smile.” You can get a glimpse of what the new cozy coffee corner will look like in the artist’s rendering below.

DOL Coffee House Coming To Santa Monica

The corner building at 1231 Wilshire has sat empty ever since the Krispy Kreme donut craze cooled and this location closed in 2021. The space now has a leased sign on the front, and I believe I know who the new tenant is. If you look carefully at the Instagram page of DOL Coffee House, you can see that the artist’s rendering of their new Santa Monica outpost has their signs up on this address. DOL has a location in Gardena and promises, “the most delicious Vietnamese drinks and desserts in the USA (Coffee, boba, and more)“.

Chez Luna Bringing Pet Adoptions And Lattes To Santa Monica.

An exciting new concept is heading to 2929 Main St in Santa Monica. Window paper is up announcing the arrival of Chez Luna. Chez Luna is billing itself as a pet “adoption cafe” and describes itself as: “A first-of-its-kind space where premium lattes meet live puppy love.” Coffee and pooches? Sign me up. They are aiming for a summer opening.

Makenna Koffee Bringing Beach Vibes To Santa Monica

New signs are up on the old Del Taco location at 2425 Wilshire Blvd in Santa Monica announcing the arrival of a new java joint and drive through. Makenna Koffee describes itself as a “beach themed coffee shop” and has a smattering of locations across SoCal. An interesting new concept is taking over the former longtime home of BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse at 938 Broxton Ave. in Westwood Village. Apparently, according to the website, Yemen has a strong tradition of coffee, where it has been cultivated for over 500 years. The new resident, Sana’a Cafe, will honor this heritage by “sourcing the finest organic beans from Yemeni highlands”. Sana’a Cafe has 8 other locations across California and offers an extensive menu of Yemeni specialty drinks, espresso drinks, and teas.

Joe & The Juice Coming To Santa Monica

Santa Monica is finally getting an outpost of übercool international lifestyle/juice brand Joe & The Juice, albeit in a curious location. Their signature window paper is up on the free-standing building in the Whole Foods complex on the corner of Pico and Cloverfield. Hailing from Denmark, the chain of coffee and juice bars has locations across Europe, Asia and North America, and has a mission to promote a “contemporary educational platform for how to prepare all people of our movement for a healthy life filled with aspiration and meaning”… as well as coffee.

Codos Bringing Exceptional Coffee From Germany To Santa Monica

A German coffee concept is making its debut in Santa Monica. There’s window paper and a sign on the diminutive space at 2665#B Main St announcing the arrival of Codos Coffee Roastery. Codos began in 2014 in Hamburg and has since spread across Germany. Their focus is on “exceptional coffee” served in a “warm and welcoming space where every guest feels at home”. Willkommen!
