The Brothers Sushi Replacing Sushi Kiyono In Beverly Hills

In a town packed with powerhouse restaurants, quiet little Sushi Kiyono has been happily serving devoted locals for 27 years at 255 S Beverly Blvd. Sadly, that is about to come to an end. A gracious note on the front door cites retirement and says that the final day of service will be this Saturday November 22. The note also welcomes their replacement: The Brothers Sushi. An ABC application on the front confirms it. With locations in Woodland Hills, Santa Monica, and Culver City, The Brothers Sushi is the much lauded and wildly popular “high-end” sushi spot that offers seasonal “Omakase Chefs courses or Ala Carte options”.

Three Flavors Bringing Asian Flavors To Venice

A small banner has appeared in the window of the space at 235 Main St. in Venice, previously home to The Anchor Venice. A new eatery named Three Flavors appears to be moving in. I don’t have much information on this establishment, other than the banner promises an interesting combination of “Thai, Sushi, Phở”.

Noma Sushi Gets A New Home In Santa Monica

We’ve long known that local institution Noma Sushi would be forced to close due to a proposed redevelopment of the property at 2031 Wilshire. Readers have been repeatedly asking me what would happen to the beloved neighborhood fave. Now we have answers: Signs are up indicating that Noma is moving across the street, to 2020 Wilshire (most recently occupied by Senator Jones), in a property owned by the same landlord as the current location. You’re welcome…

ROLLD Sushi Bringing “Aussie-Inspired” Sushi To Montana Ave.

There hasn’t been a proper fast sushi concept on Santa Monica’s tony Montana Ave for a while now (I’m not counting the markets). But that’s about to change. Paper is up on the space at 1307 Montana announcing the arrival of ROLLD Sushi. Promising an Australian minimalist approach to hand rolls, ROLLD will offer a convenient and solid menu of rolls such as salmon, prawn, veggie, and chicken katsu. They are aiming to open soon.

Mikomi Sushi Replacing Lotus Dim Sum In Downtown Santa Monica

Ever since well-regarded Lotus Dim Sum Dumpling House ended its short life in the old P.F. Chang’s space on the corner of Wilshire and 4th in Downtown Santa Monica, people have been peppering me with questions about what was taking over.  Construction began very quickly, and just last week, window paper went up announcing the new tenant.   Mikomi Sushi was founded in Monrovia in 2007 with a mission to “provide food made with quality ingredients and equally quality service”.  They offer a solid menu of sushi, sashimi, and rolls.  This will be their third location, and they are aiming for an opening in early 2025.

We Roll Nori Now Dishing Fish In Westwood

The unassuming space at 10912 Le Conte Ave in Westwood Village has seen a number of food and drink vendors come and go.  The most recent (I believe) was Ichi Tea & Sushi, and before that, Coco Fresh.  Now a new contender is giving the tricky space a go.  We Roll Nori has set up housekeeping at this address and is delivering a menu that focuses on onigiri, misubi, and hand rolls
